Appointment Policy
All appointments are scheduled in advance for all patients to allow ample time for each visit and for scheduled surgical procedures. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time. If you are new to our office, please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to fill out new client/patient paperwork. Our new patient forms may be downloaded from our website by clicking here to allow you to complete paperwork ahead of your visit.
For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available and can be scheduled with a phone call. A scheduled drop-off means you can bring your pet in the morning or early afternoon at a time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. A minimal fee is charged for your pets stay for this drop-off appointment. Please allow a few minutes to fill out a drop-off form discussing problems and concerns and contact numbers so the doctors can call with any questions and a treatment plan if needed. This form can be down-loaded from our website by clicking here.
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that certain vaccination by current for pets admitted to the hospital for medical/surgical care or for boarding and grooming. Patients admitted for medical reasons that are overdue will need immunizations administered after a doctor's examination unless the doctor designates them as too unhealthy to receive immunizations. If a pet is found to be infected with either fleas or other parasites during its stay, they will be treated in an appropriate manner at the owner's expense to prevent possible infestation to other patients.
For the safety of our patients we ask that all patients be restrained on a leash or be placed in a pet carrier before exiting your car and entering the hospital's admittance area. Though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. Being safely restrained can help decrease your pet’s anxiety as well as the anxiety of any other patient in the hospital.
Boarding & Grooming Policy
For the safety of all animals in our care, we require that certain vaccinations be current for pets admitted to the hospital for boarding or grooming. For dogs this includes current Distemper, Bordetella (kennel cough), and Rabies vaccines. Cats are required to be current on Feline Distemper and Rabies vaccinations. Any pet not current on these vaccinations will be examined by one of our veterinarians and the vaccinations will be updated at the beginning of your pet's stay. If the pet is found to be infected with fleas or any other parasites during its stay, they will be treated in an appropriate manner at the owner's expense to prevent possible infestation to other patients. If your pets receive their regular care at another veterinary hospital we ask that you fax your records ahead of time so we may prepare for your visit appropriately and save you time upon check-in. If you are unable to fax us your records please bring copies of your pet’s vaccination history with you or call us at 515-274-3555.
Boarding charges - your pet will be charged for the first day of his or her stay (the original date of arrival) regardless of the time of day he or she is dropped off. Your pet will be charged on daily basis for the remainder of their stay. If they are released before noon or stay for a grooming appointment on the day of release, they will not be charged a boarding fee for the final day.
We provide several types of bedding and washable toys for your pets comfort during their stay. We ask that no toys or bedding be brought so that a favorite toy is not lost when the bedding is changed or that the toy or bedding is not damaged by the disinfectants routinely used in the hospital.
Our boarders are routinely fed a highly digestible Iam's Veterinary Diet. We would be happy to feed their regular diet that you provide on check in. Any boarders that are on a prescription diet can either bring in their prescription food or we will have their own personal bag charged out and fed while boarding and then sent with them when they go home. The administration of medication or the handling of specialized boarders such as diabetes will have an additional daily fee charged.
Payment Policy
We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. We will gladly provide a treatment plan and associated fees the doctor anticipates will occur during your pets visit and will update that treatment plan for you as is necessary. In some cases, we may require a deposit which will be applied against the final balance. For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard, CareCredit, cash and personal checks.
